Michele Gill McKenna, MSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in child, adolescent and family therapy. Her areas of clinical interest include ADHD, childhood depression and anxiety, positive parenting, trauma, affects of chronic illness within the family as well as childhood adjustment disorders. Michele has 8 years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents.

Michele is an experienced play therapist who uses a combination of play therapy and more behavioral based techniques in her work with children. Additionally, she conducts workshops on various childhood behavioral issues and has facilitated staff trainings on deescalating aggressive children.

Michele earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and then earned her post-graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from Bryn Mawr College. Prior to working with the Center for Growth, Michele conducted individual, group and family therapy addressing a variety of child and adolescent mental health issues at the Center for Family Guidance. Michele has experience in pediatric medical social work through her work at CHOP and St. Christopher’s.

Michele is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Michele is currently pursuing her certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
